Psychology for a Better Life

We all walk around with irrational beliefs at all times, most of which are a part of our conditioning. Seldom do we realise how these affect the quality of our lives & relationships. Not only does it affect our own lives, but of the children too, that we inspire as parents and teachers.

Mental Health is so much of a taboo because there is such little understanding of how our minds work. Come, let’s break the silence and address this elephant in the room. Cheers to a brighter tomorrow!

Our Services –

Psychotherapy

Centre for Alternative Learning provides psychotherapy for depression, anxiety & stress, anger, hurt, eating disorders and other emotional problems. We also provide family therapy, and life coaching. Click for more.

Student Workshops

We believe that the first step to bringing about change is by reaching out to the youth. Knowledge beats stigma and saves lives. Our workshops for students focus on educating them about how to identify and deal with mental illnesses.

Parenting Support

Love alone, doesn’t suffice when it comes to dealing with children. We empower parents with knowledge about developmental processes, provide counselling on behavioral problems of children & adolescents, and the typical challenges that arise out of parent-child conflict.

Teacher Training

Teachers have the powerful access to thousands of young minds, and their parents. At Centre for Alternative Learning, we strive to empower the teachers with the knowledge and skills to break through the societal taboo around mental health, and nurture emotionally resilient students. Read more..

Our Founder

Niharika is a Psychologist and a certified Rational Emotive & Cognitive Behavior Therapy Practitioner trained from the Albert Ellis Institute, New York. She is also extensively trained in third-wave therapies such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and uses an eclectic approach to help people embrace a more rational and rich life.

With her primary work now focused around therapy for mental health, she actively pursues her passion for Alternative Education and Student Mental Health through workshops for teachers, parents and students.

Acceptance is not love. You love a person because he or she has lovable traits, but you accept everybody just because they’re alive and human.

She made me think and get the solution on my own, and she equipped me well in dealing with situations without her, after therapy ended. Very approachable, easy to communicate, comfortable to share anything

I like the rational, problem solving approach, and I always come out of the sessions with some tools / homework. I also love the helpful tidbits Niharika shares now and then even outside of the sessions.

The therapy gives me an insight into my own behaviors in a much better way. I can understand my triggers and when my reactions might be getting impulsive or acting out of emotions.
